KC04: 6N/7D EXPLORE SANGLA

DAY 1: CHANDIGARH TO NARKANDA (179kms, 5hr)

Arrive at Chandigarh. Pick-up and transfer to Narkanda. Check-in at your hotel, and rest of the day is free for leisure. Overnight at Narkanda.

DAY 2: NARKANDA TO SANGLA (160kms, 5-6 hr)

Arrive at Kinner Camps, Sangla. Relax with a welcome drink and lunch. Later, go for a small walk to explore the camp surroundings. Evening campfire, followed by dinner. Overnight at Kinner Camps.

DAY 3: CHITKUL-NAGASTI - KAMROO

Early morning, sip morning tea while watching birds like the Himalayan whistling thrush, Rufus warbler, grey tit, flower peckers and sun birds. Go for a walk in the valley. Visit apple orchards, and return to the camp for breakfast at 8 am. After breakfast, depart at 9.30 and drive to Chitkul (23km), the last Indian village on the Indo-Tibet border. Later, walk to Nagasti, the last civilian point (2.5km). Come back to camp for lunch. Post lunch, go to Kamroo village, visit the fort, and Kamakhya devi temple, the deity of which was originally brought from Assam. Come back to camp for tea. Rest of the evening is free for leisure. Alternately, indulge in some adventure activities at the campsite. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

DAY 4: BATSERI VILLAGE - GLACIER WALK - RAKCHHAM

Repeat an early morning wake-up, followed by breakfast at 8 am. Get ready for the glacier walk. Leave camp by 10 am. On the way visit Batseri village & Lord Badrinarayan temple, then experience the walk on the glacier. Drive down to Rakchham, a quaint nomadic village, where you can experience the ‘pahari’ lifestyle of the people. Carry packed lunch and have it on the banks of the Baspa river, which is a 5 min walk from the camp.
Post lunch, relax a bit and then proceed for a leisurely walk to Hurba which is famous for spring water. After tea, leisure and free time to explore around. Or indulge in adventure activities at the camp. Dinner and overnight at Kinner camps.

DAY 5: SANGLA TO KALPA

After breakfast, drive to Kalpa (50kms). Explore Kalpa and Rogi villages. Kalpa is one of the oldest villages, approximately 500 years old, and there are documents to prove the same. The whole village has a stunning view of the Kinner Kailash and Jorkandan peaks. Kinner Kailash is said to be the winter home of the great Lord Shiva. By its side, there is a 79 foot single rock resembling the Shivlinga that changes colour as the day passes. Kalpa is famous for its apples & chilgoza plantations, & the Narayan Nagini Temple Complex, which has Shrines of Hindu and Buddhist deities. Overnight at Kalpa.

DAY 6: KALPA TO SHIMLA (250kms, 8hrs)

Rise early to watch the stunning sunrise wash the Kinner Kailash mountains. We then leave the beautiful Sangla Valley and start our journey back home. Drive to Shimla. After check-in at the hotel, rest of the evening is free for leisure.

DAY 7: SHIMLA TO CHANDIGARH

After an early breakfast, we depart for Chandigarh, from where you will catch your flight back home.
