KC03: 7N/8D - Whirlwind Spiti

This trip can be undertaken only after Kunzum-la and Rohtang Pass re-open (after mid-May/early June)

Day 1: CHANDIGARH TO MANALI

We take an early morning flight to Chandigarh, from where we depart for Manali. Check-in to the hotel and rest.


Day 2: MANALI – TO KAZA via KUNZUM LA PASS

Early morning post breakfast, we depart for Kaza. Pass through the newly opened Atal Tunnel and then through Kunzum-la Pass which, at 4590 mts, is the highest pass on Spiti Lahaul Road. Check in at the hotel at Kaza for overnight stay.


Day 3: KAZA

Post breakfast, we leave and visit the Ki and Kibber monasteries. Break for lunch at a local dhabha. Post lunch, depart to Langza village (the village of Langza is primarily dominated by the statue of Lord Buddha overlooking the valley, and an ancient monastery) and the Kommik monastery (one of the oldest and highest in Spiti Valley). Return to Kaza. Evening is free to explore the surroundings. Overnight at Kaza.


Day 4: KAZA – TABO - KAZA

Post breakfast, we leave for Dhankar monastery. We then drive to Tabo. Although small, this village has the most famous monastery of the valley. The Tabo monastery, also called the Chogs-hkhor, is said to be over 1000 years old. A short drive away is the Gue mummy lama temple. Explore Tabo village. Return to Kaza for overnight stay.


DAY 5: KAZA TO CHANDRATAAL via KUNZUM LA PASS

Today, we leave for a camping experience to Chandrataal Lake. A drive via Kunzum La Pass and a gentle trek takes you to Chandrataal. Check in at the campsite. Enjoy a packed picnic lunch on the banks of the lake. Chill and relax the entire day. Experience a night under the stars.


DAY 6: CHANDRATAAL TO MANALI

Leave early morning for Manali. Enjoy the scenic drive through Battal – Chattru – Gramphu towards Rohtang Pass. Check-in and relax after the journey.


DAY 7: MANALI TO CHANDIGARH

After an early breakfast, we depart for Chandigarh.


DAY 8: FLIGHT BACK HOME

Depart back home, carrying unforgettable memories with you.
